Tracking Maven

Belt tracking problems you can’t sort out?

Send us a video of 2½ complete belt revolutions at the tail or take-up. We’ll generate a tracking profile of your belt.

See how your belt moves through each revolution, and when its tracking changes.

Your belt video · A measured tracking profile · Maven Software

Watch the belt shift as the splice section passes. The graph in the lower right follows the measured belt-edge position. 34 seconds, with narration and English captions.

Make the movement visible

Your video becomes a tracking profile.

A tracking profile shows how the belt moves sideways over a complete revolution. Matching the graph to the footage makes changes easier to see and discuss.

Follow the belt through a revolution.

See the lateral movement, its direction, and whether the pattern repeats as the belt comes around again.

See what happens at the splice.

In this example, the belt and rollers are identified and a moving cursor follows the video as the splice passes and the belt shifts.

The example graph shows lateral offset relative to belt width. Each review uses the footage and information available for that belt.

What to send

Record 2½ complete belt revolutions.

Film at the tail or take-up from a safe, fixed viewing position. Keep recording continuously so the same section of belt comes around more than twice.

  1. Keep the camera steady.

Hold the same view throughout the recording, without panning or zooming.

  2. Show the belt edge.

Keep the belt edge, rollers, and surrounding fixed structure in view, with enough room to see the belt move sideways.

  3. Send the original video.

Keep the full recording. Include the belt or conveyor identifier and a brief description of the tracking problem.
